One of the key projects included in the voter-approved Austin ISD 2017 Bond Program is a fully modernized Rosedale School, with a new school to be built at the former Lucy Read campus located at 2608 Richcreek Rd, Austin, TX 78757. The new design and construction will be based on the AISD educational specifications to create a state-of-the-art facility.
DLR Group has been contracted by the district to support the first steps in the design process and design conversations for Rosedale. A Campus Architectural Team, made up of members of your school community, began meeting regularly with the project team in July to provide input as we seek to create an environment for 21st century learning.
The CAT for Rosedale includes:
- Elizabeth Dickey, Principal
- Nancy Gorton, Assistant Principal
- Kaysie Sallans, Administrative Assistant
- Cindy Rosales, Life Skills Specialist
- Rebecca Jurgensen, School Nurse
- Jason Hawrylo, Teacher
- Samantha Marion, Teacher
- Paula Cox, GO Project Teacher
- Brenda Flores, APE Teacher
- Maureen Benschoter, Parent
- Al Godfrey, Community Member
- Arun Chatterjee, Community Member
As part of the district’s commitment to communicate the progress of the bond to the community, we want to be sure you are aware of opportunities for public engagement around key project milestones.
CAT meetings are taking place throughout the summer as the team works through the initial phases of planning and design. There will be a community engagement opportunity at the end of this phase, which has not yet been scheduled.
