On August 30th, the Menchaca community gathered for a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the beginning of construction for the elementary school modernization.

Principal Eliza Loyola kicked off the event with welcome remarks, which were followed by words of wisdom from Superintendent Dr. Paul Cruz. Student representatives Dylan Cagle and Charlize Bailey then shared their appreciation for the Menchaca school community and their excitement for the new facility.

The event ended with the entire Menchaca student body forming the outline of each building that will be constructed as part of the new facility, with students breaking ground in the middle of at each area.
