On May 21st, Austin ISD and Murchison Middle School hosted a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the start of construction on the school’s modernization project. The project will include a 6th grade addition, library and administration relocation and a new bus loop.
The event also featured remarks from Murchison Principal, Beth Newton, Austin ISD Superintendent, Dr. Paul Cruz, Austin ISD Board of Trustees, Kristin Ashy, as well as the following sudent government members:
- Haylen, Cohen
- Mia Phillips
- Logan Marcum
- Taryn Cohen
- Jenna Mendelssohn
- Hudson Harvey
- IV Webb
- Sheppard Tyler
The ceremony also had original poetry readings from students Melissa Hernandez-Garza and Mia Schock and performances by the Murchison Band.
