On August 12, the Dell Children’s Medical Center and Austin ISD held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Children’s Comprehensive Care clinic at the Rosedale School. The state-of-the-art clinic is dedicated to the care of children with complex medical issues. 

Why it Matters: The district’s partnership with the Dell Children’s Medical Center will better serve this fragile population of students by providing convenient access to life-sustaining medications, treatments and programs.

Quick Facts: 

• The clinic is located inside the modernized Rosedale School and is designed to maximize the health and development of children with significant special needs.
• Rosedale School serves about 100 students from across the district who are medically fragile or need intensive behavioral support. 
• The new clinic cares for about 800 patients not enrolled in Rosedale.

“We are incredibly excited to share our space with the Comprehensive Care clinic,” said Elizabeth Dickey, Rosedale School Principal. “We believe that the collaboration between the clinic and the Rosedale School will benefit our students, as well as children across Central Texas as these two groups learn from one another in this new building.”
