Eastside Early College High School Modernization Update — Fall 2021

Happy fall, Panthers! We are sharing the Fall 2021 edition of the Eastside Early College High School and International High School 2017 Bond Newsletter. The modernized facility at the L.C. Anderson Campus officially opened for students on Aug. 17.

Why It Matters 

The new school was built with a modern, flexible design that incorporates outdoor learning, updated technology and collaborative spaces. 

By The Numbers

The modernization budget for Eastside ECHS was $80 million, and part of a $146.5 million investment for the Eastside family of schools, which is a $43,084 investment per student. This is the highest per-student investment among the district’s family of schools. In total, the 2017 Bond Program will investment $1.05 billion into schools across the district. 

Happening Now 

A few projects are still being wrapped up on campus. This includes ongoing construction on the Wellness Walk, gym, fieldhouse and student parking lot located off Webberville Rd. These projects should not interfere with learning and are expected to be complete this fall.

What’s Next 

The grand opening celebration has been postponed due to COVID-19 and the City of Austin’s risk-based guidelines. The district is closely monitoring the public health environment and will schedule the grand opening when it is safe to gather for large celebrations.
