On September 25th, Govalle Elementary School hosted a groundbreaking ceremony to commemorate the start of construction for the modernization project.

The event featured remarks by principal Paula Reyes, Superintendent Dr. Cruz and Trustee Jayme Mathias, followed by words of gratitude from the Govalle librarian and several student representatives. The ceremony ended with a time capsule presentation, with Govalle team members and the community contributing items to illustrate the progress of the project and where it is headed.

There was also a special appearance by the Govalle Roadrunner, who joined the students for the official groundbreaking and led attendees in the Govalle chant.
