Ann Richards Modernization Project Wins the Austin AGC Outstanding Construction Award

The Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders has won an award for its newly-modernized design.

Why it matters: We design our school to enrich students’ educational experience. When we get an award from people who do this for a living, it shows we hit the mark.

2021 Outstanding Construction Award will be presented to the architect Rogers-O’Brien by the Austin Chapter of the Associated General Contractors on Feb. 18.

  • The organization looks at difficulty in construction, unique construction techniques, timeliness of completion, final appearance and quality of the finished product.

The building features new academic wings, space for fine arts and outdoor learning, a track and field and even a two-story slide in the library.

  • The new building is like a dream come true…I knew for the longest that we all wished for a new building. It was great to see the new building come from the ground up, to what it is today.” – Karen Sanchez-Gonzalez, 2021 Graduate
