On September 6th, the Doss Elementary School community came together for a groundbreaking celebration as the modernization project moved into the construction phase.

The event featured a special performance by the Doss Choir, which led the audience in the Doss school song. The choir also performed “Home” by Phillip Phillips, highlighting the seamless transition of staff, students and families to the Lucy Read campus during construction.

Remarks were given by Doss Principal Janna Griffin as well as AISD Superintendent Dr. Paul Cruz, prior to the official groundbreaking of the school site.
