Background
One of the key projects included in the voter-approved Austin ISD 2017 Bond Program is a full modernization of Doss Elementary School.
Because of the large student population and the limited size of the site, Doss students will be temporarily relocated to the former Lucy Read campus at 2608 Richcreek Road. Students will be there for the 2018-19 and 2019-20 school years while Doss Elementary School is being modernized.
Stantec and Bartlett Cocke General Contractors have been contracted by the district for this project. A Campus Architectural Team, made up of members of your school community, has been meeting regularly with the project team since March to provide input as we seek to modernize the facility and shape the environment for 21st century learning.

Community Meetings
As part of the district’s commitment to communicate the progress of the bond to the community, we want to be sure you are aware of opportunities for public engagement around key project milestones.
CAT meetings are taking place throughout the summer as the team works through the final phases of planning and design.
Please mark your calendars for Thursday, September 6th and plan to join the Doss community for a groundbreaking ceremony as this project moves into the construction phase! Additional details will be shared in early August.
