James Bowie High School Groundbreaking

On June 6, community members gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking of the James Bowie High School modernization project.

The ceremony featured a performance by the JBHS pep band and was emceed by Student Council Representative Blake Guerra. The event also included remarks by Bowie principal Mark Robinson, AISD Superintendent Paul Cruz and AISD Trustee Yasmin Wagner.

As part the 2017 Bond Program, Bowie will receive Phase 1 of a full modernization of the existing facility, including improved parking and additions to the athletics and fine arts facilities. Construction will be completed in phases, with the new parking addition scheduled to open in fall 2020.
