As part of the 2017 Bond Program, Austin ISD has been addressing campus-level deficiencies throughout the district.
- These targeted projects focus on critical facility repairs such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, roofing and safety systems and support other school programs and needs.
Why it matters: The district identified over $4 billion in needs during the planning of the 2017 Bond. Targeted projects and modernizations included in the bond are able to address many of these needs through repairs and replacements.
- Investing in our facilities helps reduce operating costs in the long run and frees up dollars to improve the academic experience of our students, teachers and staff.
The bottom line: Since the passing of the 2017 Bond, the district has completed 87 targeted projects and is on track to complete an additional 23 projects in 2023. Austin ISD is committed to completing all projects outlined in the 2017 Bond.
