On May 1, Austin ISD and the Liberal Arts and Sciences Academy (LASA) held a neighborhood and alumni meeting to discuss the LASA transition to the Johnston campus and share ideas. This virtual meeting also answered questions from the previous LASA community meetings held on March 6.
After each presentation, LASA students led attendees through a community conversation to hear their thoughts on the ideas presented and discuss additional ways LASA can work with their new neighbors and the Johnston alumni.

As part of the 2017 Bond Program, Eastside ECHS and International High School will move into a modernized facility to serve both schools at the Original L.C. Anderson campus site. The new school is on track to open to students for the fall 2021 semester. At that time, the Liberal Arts and Sciences Academy (LASA) will move from its current location at LBJ Early College High School to the current Eastside Early College High School.
Student success is the ultimate goal and the district’s driving force behind the 2017 Bond Program which will invest over $1.05 billion into schools across the district. The overall investment for the Eastside family of schools is $146.5 million, which amounts to $43,084 per student. This is the highest per-student investment among the district’s family of schools.
Thank you to all community members and alumni who were able to join us for this meeting!
