Brentwood Elementary School received a fully modernized campus as part of the 2017 Bond Program. The modernized school opened to students in Fall 2022, followed by a grand opening celebration.
The design and construction preserves the history of the campus, which was important to the Brentwood community and Campus Architectural Team. This was done by balancing old and new design features such as:
- A partial rebuild of two wings from the pre-existing campus along with a new building that houses the administrative offices, dining commons, fitness space, fine arts studios and a media resource center
- Preservation of the Birds in Flight mural that was part of the original campus, complete with a new custom pop-art mural made by former Brentwood student Evan Hildebrandt
The big picture: The modernization has provided students and educators with flexible learning spaces and increased the school’s capacity to 696 students to relieve crowding.
