0:03 – ANN RICHARDS SCHOOL FOR YOUNG WOMEN LEADERS The school is undergoing phase one of a strategic modernization to create a state-of-the-art campus at the current site. The building pad is complete, and the footprint of the building structure can be visibly distinguished. The total budget for the project is $70,416,000 and the new school is anticipated to open in Winter 2021.

0:40 – BOWIE HIGH SCHOOL James Bowie High School Bowie will receive phase one of a full modernization, which includes improved parking as well as additions and renovations to the athletics facilities and fine arts. In this video, the parking lot demolition is underway and will be completed soon. The total budget for the project is $91,030,000.

1:15 – DOSS ELEMENTARY The school is undergoing a full modernization, including new construction and expansion to bring the permanent capacity up to 870 students. Work on the foundation and utilities is underway. The total budget for this project is $43,052,000 and the new school is anticipated to open in Winter 2021.

1:56 – EASTSIDE MEMORIAL ECHS & INTERNATIONAL HS AT THE ORIGINAL L.C. ANDERSON CAMPUS The modernization budget for this school is $80 million and part of a $146.5 million investment for the Eastside Memorial family of schools, which is a $43,084 investment per student. This is the highest per-student investment among the district’s family of schools. Mass grading is 90% complete and the new school is expected to open in Summer 2021.

2:43 – GOVALLE ELEMENTARY A new modernized campus is being built on the existing site and will be one of the first schools in the 2017 Bond Program to open in January 2020. Walls and roofing can be seen in this video. The total budget for this project is $32,565,000.

3:28 – MENCHACA ELEMENTARY A new modernized campus is being built on the existing site and will be one of the first schools in the 2017 Bond Program to open in January 2020. Walls and roofing continue to go up. The new parking and fire lanes are also underway. The total budget for this project is $33,351,000.

4:14 – NEW SOUTHWEST ELEMENTARY This school will provide relief to the over-utilized Kiker and Baranoff Elementary Schools with a planned capacity of 552 students. The total project budget is $36,227,000 and the new school is expected to open in Fall 2020. Excavation of site utilities and retention pond elements are underway.

4:57 – NORMAN ELEMENTARY The modernized Norman Elementary will open in Fall 2020 and include flexible learning spaces, natural light, outdoor classrooms, and new media technology. Trustees approved a $25 million investment in the school, funding the complete modernization of the campus. Structural demolition is complete and earthwork is underway.

5:41 – T.A. BROWN ELEMENTARY The school will be one of the first modernization projects completed as part of the 2017 bond program the newly constructed school, located on the original site, is scheduled to open in January 2020. The total budget for the project is $30,842,00. T.A. Brown will be completely topped-out by mid-July.
